Bear in mind the ethos and personality of your brand that you’d like to portray through your photo.
For example, if you are a Financial Advisor you will need to look smart, professional, trustworthy, but also friendly and approachable. In this case a business suit may be appropriate. Or perhaps you want to portray a slightly more relaxed impression and so choose not to wear a tie, or even keep it to just a smart shirt.
A Landscape Gardener will also want to look professional, trustworthy, friendly and approachable, however a suit is clearly not appropriate and therefore you may wish to consider something like a polo shirt or casual shirt for example.
